6/16/13 – Father’s Day

Today was Junior’s first father’s day and he was excited.  I got him 2 shirts, one was a black basketball shirt that says “Proud Daddy” and the second was a blue custom made t-shirt that says “She stole my heart with one inch hands – Proud Micro Preemie Daddy.”  He liked both of them and wore the blue one today.  We woke up and had a nice breakfast, following that we went to purchase some hangers for the clothes we received for Olivia.  After that we went to visit Olivia, Junior read to her for a bit before touch time.  She is doing well, her oxygen levels are good and she is accepting the feeds very well.  She did lose a bit of weight, 2 ounces, it could be because her body is working hard from the food she is receiving.  During the touch time, she only opened her eyes once, she was sleeping.  When we got to the NICU the secretary gave Junior a nice father’s day poem with Olivia’s hand and foot print, Junior was very grateful.  It was so kind of her to spend so much time creating one for each father.
