Tonight’s visit was fun. Let’s get the vitals
out of the way; Olivia is back up to 1.13 pounds. She is on full feeds with my breast milk and
is getting a fortifier to up the calorie intake. Her Billy Ruben score stayed the same, so it
is good that it did not go up. Her oxygen has been steady and she is starting
to breathe a small amount more on her own but is still depending on the vent a
lot. I told her she needs to stop that;
let’s see if she listens haha. Nurse T
was the nurse taking care of her tonight, this is her second time taking care
of her. We asked her if she would like
to primary with Olivia on the nights Nurse L was not there. She said she would think about it and get
back to us.
We began the hands on and
Olivia did great. Her temperature was
normal and her blood pressure was good.
I went to change her diaper and she had a good movement, so I cleaned
her up and went to wash my hands while Nurse T measured her belly. She peed so much it got on the blanket under
her so we were going to change that as well.
While I was washing my hands I hear Junior mention that she was going
again (this is after we lifted her legs to make sure she didn’t have
more). So Nurse T cleaned her up again
and I placed a new diaper under her, so this is her 2nd diaper. Once she was cleaned up, this little girl
decides to go AGAIN but not just go, she shot that crap (no pun intended) out
and it hit the incubator! So we had to clean her up again hoping she was done. Nurse T placed a paper towel under her before
we put another diaper in order to clean her up.
Well, Ms. Olivia had to pee and that shot out as well. Fun times.
We had to go through 4 diapers.
This food is doing her well =o). In a day or two they will increase the calorie
intake a bit more; this will help her grow.
By the end of this week we should have an update on the murmur. Things are looking good and Olivia is doing
well. God is making big strides in her
life.
