Olivia is looking much better and back to her feisty
self. They did find out she has a blood
infection; because of that they would like to do another procedure which we
spoke about and they will do tomorrow.
It was so great that they found the infection early and started her on
antibiotics before they even knew what it was.
Infections are horrible for micro-preemies and preemies in general. Daddy got to hold Olivia for the first time
when Nurse L was changing the blankets.
He felt like I threw him into the fire since I offered up his services
lol. He didn’t think he was ready but I
knew he was and he did great. Olivia
went up an ounce so now she is 2.2 lbs! That is one pound more than when she
was born. She was so wide awake as Nurse
L was finishing up her touch time. It
was nice to see her looking around; every time someone spoke she would turn her
eyes towards the direction of the voice.
She would try to turn her head but the nava (oxygen tube) doesn’t allow
that much movement. As we closed up the
incubator we found that she was uncomfortable on her left side, she prefers her
right, just like her mommy. They should
also restart her feeds tomorrow. Looking
forward to seeing her again and watching her grow and improve.
